Custom Napkins using Cricut Easy Press
Today I'm going to show you how to use a Cricut Machine and Easy Press to make custom napkins. The process involves printing an image onto a heat transfer vinyl, ironing it onto fabric, and then cutting out the shape of your choice. It's not difficult once you get started, so let's get started!
How to use a Cricut Heat Press
To get started, you'll need to prepare your Cricut Heat Press. First, make sure that the machine is turned off and unplugged from its power source. Next, lift up on one side of the lid and remove it entirely from the machine after removing any paper or plastic wraps that may have been used during shipping. Then place a piece of parchment paper over top of your image (if you don't have parchment paper handy, try using regular printer paper instead). Finally, turn on your Cricut Easy Press and set its temperature according to manufacturer recommendations (most machines come pre-programmed with recommended settings).
Once these steps are complete, place your custom napkin onto top of where you want it pressed onto another napkin or other material such as wood or leather--whatever suits your fancy! Then press down firmly until all edges are secure against each other; this process should take about 30 seconds per side depending on how much pressure has been applied.*
Prepare the Cricut Machine
Turn on the Cricut machine.
Plug in the Cricut machine and load it with a mat, blade, and paper.
Plug in the power cord and set your desired temperature and speed settings by pressing "Enter" on your keyboard (this is located next to where you load paper).
Set the Temperature
Now that you have your materials and tools ready, it's time to get started!
First, set the temperature of your Easy Press machine by pressing "Settings" on the screen. Then choose "Set Temperature." Next, tap on "350 Degrees F" at the top of this menu and press "OK." Now press start and wait for your machine to heat up before continuing with step two!
When it beeps after reaching 350 degrees F (or whatever temperature you chose), press stop so we can begin making custom napkins with our Cricut Easy Press machine!
Place the Napkin on top of the image
Place the napkin on top of the image.
Use a piece of paper to keep the design from sticking to your mat, and press it down firmly with your hand or an iron.
Heat Press the Image onto the Napkin
Once you have cut out your design, place it on top of your napkin and press down with a heat press until you hear two clicks. This will ensure that they properly adhere together and are ready to use! Remove from heat press when cool and enjoy!
